REGISTRATION DATES
January 19th: Winter 2026 registrations open for grades 4–19
January 31st: Winter 2026 registrations open for Senior & Masters grades
March 1st:
- Registrations for any grades that have reached maximum capacity will close or will have already closed. Grades with available spaces will remain open until April 1st
- Friend requests and team requests close
- Our staff begins reviewing registrations and addressing any errors or issues identified. Team requests are reviewed and team allocation begins, starting with grades whose seasons commence the soonest
April 1st:
- Registrations for all grades - including those that have not reached capacity - are closed, to allow for team allocations.
- The registration waitlist opens
April 5th - April 20th:
- Parents/guardians/players in grades 10-19 begin receiving information about their players team and relevent season details. *
- Volunteer Coaches and Team Managers are requested for each team.
- If a grade has closed before it has reached maximum capacity for the season, once all registered player/team allocations are complete - we will then begin drawing suitable players from the Registration Waitlist to fill any available spots.
*Teams in grades that begin the soonest will be allocated first.
April 20th - May 1st:
- Parents/guardians/players in grades 4-9 begin receiving information about their players team and finalised information regarding our Centennial Park First Kicks/ Fun Football competion.

May 2nd: All teams in all grades are finalised and have been communicated to parents/guardians/players. Coaches and managers are in place and will receive their team’s player list, guardian contact details, and relevant medical information
Why is the registration close date so early?
Each grade will close when it reaches maximum capacity, or on April 1st - whichever is soonest. Many grades will reach maximum capacity by March 1st.
By providing a shortened deadline compared to previous years, it impresses on our returning members that they must complete their players' registration as soon as possible. This added urgency helps us ensure that we give our current and returning CTFC players the best opportunity to successfully register for the season and secure a place in their preferred grade. This approach helps reduce the risk of grades filling before returning CTFC players have the chance to register.
If a grade still has available spaces on 1 March, registrations will remain open until 1 April, when team allocations begin. At that point, the season registration waitlist will open, and players will be selected via this form to fill any remaining team places or any spots that become available

SO WHAT DO REGISTRATION FEES COVER?
The day-to-day and season-to-season operations of a community sports club are complex and wide-ranging. Player registration fees contribute toward many of these costs; however, they do not fully cover them. As a result, clubs also rely on regional grants and funding to meet the shortfall.
As a non-profit organisation, any 'profits' acheived within a financial year are directly re-invested back into our community, programmes and development.
Unlike some other sports, such as rugby where funding is distributed down through the system, football clubs are required to pay affiliation fees to both New Zealand Football and Mainland Football. A portion of each player’s registration fee is paid directly to these governing bodies.
Registration fees contribute to the following costs:
- Affiliation fees to New Zealand Football and Mainland Football
- Hire of training and match venues across the city
- Maintenance and upkeep of hired playing pitches
- Staffing costs
- General business operating costs, including essential systems and programmes
- Club site costs, including Garrick Park fees and upkeep
And some of the largest costs the Club incur year to year include playing and training equipment, and the ongoing replacement of that equipment such as:
- Playing kits and away strips
- Gear bags
- Training and match balls
- Bibs
- Nets and goals
- Equipment storage
- First aid kits
- Goalkeeper jerseys and gloves
As is true for all community non-profit Clubs, we therefore rely on volunteer coaches and team managers to oversee our community teams.
Talent Development Pathway Fees
Alongside our community teams, we offer a Talent Development Pathway that provides competitive environments for ambitious players to further develop their skills. Teams within this pathway, including Pre-Academy and Academy, incur additional fees beyond standard registration and are selected through Team Selection sessions held throughout February.
These fees reflect the enhanced programme offering and cover:
- Qualified and specialist coaching
- Access to higher-quality training and playing surfaces
- Strength and conditioning support
- Nutrition guidance
- Veo camera use and player performance analysis
- In some cases, additional training apparel

SELECTING THE CORRECT GRADE FOR YOUR PLAYER
New to CTFC and unsure which grade to select for your player? Please review our Registration Information document and Player Grade Guide for more information on choosing the right grade for your player.
Please note that a player’s grade cannot be changed after their registration has been submitted. We strongly recommend reviewing all available information and communicating with your player’s friends and their families to ensure everyone is registering in the same grade before completing your player’s registration.

TEAM INFORMATION & GIRLS-ONLY TEAMS
Cashmere Technical offers a broad range of social and competitive football from ages 4 to 50+! From First Kicks to First team, CTFC has a place for everyone.
Team Selection/Division 1-2 Teams
Players that attend Team Selections and achieve a place in an A-Band team/top division team will be informed of their successful selection by March 1st. All other players will be allocated into teams by mid-April. We will email you details of your/your players team by mid-April. Please find more information on Team Selections 2026 here.
Community Teams
Volunteer Coaches & Team Leaders
Community football teams (all teams outside our Talent Development Pathway, such as Pre-Academy and Academy teams that incur additional fees to cover the cost of qualified coaching) rely on volunteer Coaches and Team Managers to lead them throughout the season, with support and resources provided by the Club. These teams are heavily dependent on volunteers, and when team allocations are confirmed, you’ll see a call for Coaches and Team Managers.
Teams are unable to take the field without a Coach in place, and while we work hard to prevent this, we rely on our football community to step in and support teams in a timely manner. For more information, or to express your interest in volunteering for the season, please get in touch with us.
please view our Club Volunteers page.
Team Training
For Community teams (any team that is not within our Talent Development pathway) as mentioned are ran by Community Volunteer Coaches. These coaches decide if they will run a training session through the season based on their own preference and avaialblity.
Details on training if applicable will be emailed through to you by end of April by your Team Coach or Team Manager. Interested in being a Community Coach or Club Volunteer? Find complete the interest form here and we will be in touch by mid-April.
Girls-Only Teams
At Cashmere Technical, we offer both mixed-sex teams and girls-only teams. Girls-only teams are "dual banded" which means players of two multiple groups are able to sign up.
Female players are able to choose from mixed (boys & girls) and girls-only teams for the season in the below listed grades.
Providing young girls with this choice is important because it allows them to find an environment that best suits their confidence, skill level, and personal preference. Some girls thrive in mixed teams, enjoying the challenge and diversity of play, while others feel more confident and engaged in a girls-only setting, where they can develop skills alongside peers who share similar experiences.
If you would like your player to enter a Girls-Only team, please select a Girls-Only membership when registering your player, or indicate your preference for a girls-only team if available.
With the Whole of Football 2.0 updates, girls-grades have been adapted with the goal of increasing player enjoyment and supporting technical development:
- U9 girls-only
- U11 girls-only
- U13 girls-only
- U15 girls-only
- U17 girls-only
U5-7 girls-only teams will be offered if enough players indicate interest. For more information on girls-only and mixed teams/grades, please review our Player Grade Guide here. For more information on the Women & Girls community within CTFC, please go here.
-
REGISTRATION WAITLIST
Even after grades reach maximum capacity - or close on April 1st to allow for team allocation - spaces can occasionally open up as players withdraw.
Players who have completed our Winter 2026 Season Registration Waitlist may then be offered these available spots. As a Club that sees over 63% of players re-register from one season to the next, we prioritise returning Cashmere Technical players when allocating from the waitlist.
The Winter Football 2026 Season Waitlist will open on April 1st when all grades are closed.
Please review our Registration Information document via the blue button below for more information on our Season Waitlist.
