At Cashmere Technical FC, we welcome players of all abilities and ambitions. Whether your player is looking to enjoy social football with friends or is motivated to develop their skills in a more competitive environment, we offer teams and development pathways to support their football journey.


Our Youth programme includes community teams that prioritise participation, enjoyment, and connection, alongside structured Talent Development pathways such as Pre-Academy and Academy for ambitious and talented players. At Cashmere Technical, there is a place for every player to grow, improve, and thrive in the game.

As part of NZ Football’s Whole of Football 2.0 Player Development Framework, the Youth age group sits within the Skill Development Phase.


During this stage, players:

  • Transition to 11v11 football
  • Experience an increased focus on physical preparation, including injury prevention through effective warm-ups
  • Training sessions bring core skills to life through more position-specific and game-related scenarios
  • Opportunities to develop decision making skills under pressure


CTFC delivers its programme through a combination of qualified Talent Development coaches and committed volunteer community coaches, all of whom uphold the Club’s playing philosophy.

  • Increased tactical awareness & decision making
  • Sportsmanship
  • And as always - love for the game.

Players are given opportunities to experience different positions, receive fair playing time, and build their football intelligence within a fun, supportive environment. Whether new to the game or progressing through advanced pathways, our Youth teams provide an ideal setting for development.

Join us for an exciting season of football at Cashmere Technical FC, where we focus on player development, team spirit, and love for the game!


Competition: Mainland Football’s city-wide competition. View fixtures and competition information here.


Season Dates: Starts Saturday 2nd May


Grades: With the Whole of Football 2.0 updates, grades have now changed slightly and are listed below:

  • 14th grade mixed (boys & girls)
  • U15 girls-only
  • 15th grade mixed
  • U17 girls-only
  • U17 grade mixed
  • U19 grade mixed

Teams: CTFC offers teams ranging from fun, social football to highly competitive Talent Development teams, across both mixed and girls-only grades. Players seeking selection in Talent Development (Pre-Academy and Academy) teams or Division 1–3 teams should attend Team Selection sessions held each February. Players wishing to play with friends should register as usual and include any friend or team requests during registration.


Community teams are formed by Volunteer Grade Managers after registrations close on 1 March, with team information provided by mid-April. Please note that all Development and Academy teams are selected in November each year.


Training:  Community youth football teams are coached by a Volunteer Coach. It is at the coaches discretion if the team has a training session. If the team has a training session, the information will be emailed to you by the Volunteer Coach.

  • Playing Philosophy

    Play Out from the Back: Focus on short passes from defenders and goalkeepers to develop skills and positioning, even if mistakes are made.


    Position Rotation: Players rotate positions to enhance tactical understanding and versatility.


    Shared Game Time: Playing time is evenly distributed with emphasis on fun and development, affected only by attitude, behavior, or lateness, not performance.

  • Football Kit

    Your players will receive a CTFC shirt, which must be returned at the end of the season. They will also need shin pads, boots, and CTFC shorts and socks. These items are available on our club shop.
