TEAM SELECTIONS
February 2026
Team Selections take place every year throughout the month February, and provide players with the opportunity to be selected for CTFC’s competitive teams for the upcoming winter season.
Players looking to play social football with friends - or players that do not attend Team Selections - will be allocated into teams as normal through April. Read more information on team allocations via our Registration Information page.
Each grade is allocated a series of open training sessions where players can attend to be assessed by our team of qualified coaches. Some sessions are open to all players, while in certain grades the second session will be invite-only. Registration Requirements
- All players attending Team Selections must complete the Team Selection registration form found here. This allows us to set up the correct number of rotations and groups for the session. Players that arrive unregistered will need to have the Team Selection Registration form completed before they take the field, in-line with our Health & Safety policies.
- Players are welcome to attend both goalkeeper and outfield selections, however please be aware that these sessions often coincide. Please touch base with the Club if you would like to discuss your players options
- Do not have to have been registered with CTFC in previous seasons - we welcome new players that may be new to the region or players from other clubs
- If a player is selected for a team, they must have a Winter 2026 Season Registration. We highly recommend players complete their registration before the team announcement date, as many grades will fill before March 1st.
- Selected players will have a two-week deadline from the date of the selection email to complete their season registration if they have not already done so. Please note that grades close once they reach maximum capacity, which often occurs before 1 March for grades 6–13.
For this reason, we strongly recommend registering your player as early as possible - i.e. before the March 1st Team Selection release date. If a selected player does not complete registration within the two-week timeframe, or is unable to register because the grade has already reached capacity, their offered place on the selected team will be forfeited. This system aligns with our overal Club player registration process, and ensures we prioritise players committed to CTFC.
Key Information
- Location: All sessions Whittington Avenue Park, apart from 11th grade girls
- Sessions: Typically 2–3 sessions per grade, with a mix of open-invite and invite-only sessions. Held in the afternoon
- Registration: All players must register via the Team Selection form, which opens on January 19th, 2026
- Spectators: Parents' are welcome to remain on site during Team Selections sessions if they feel it is in their players best interest/allows them to trial to their fullest potential, however we request spectators remain within the allocated spectator area.
