Net Roster Duties

To ensure smooth match days, teams are assigned specific net and corner flag duties - if you are the home listed team for your fixture, you must check the Net Roster on a Friday afternoon.


What to Check:

  • Net size required
  • Corner posts needed (CFP = Corner Flag Posts x 4)
  • Whether to return or leave the net for the next game

At Cashmere Technical FC, we manage multiple grounds and facilities to support training and match days for all our teams. Along with our net roster duties, details of ground facilities, and booking processes to help coaches and teams stay on track are here. Ground Closures

Applies to: Monday to Friday training sessions only.

Who Makes the Decision?

Ground closure decisions are primarily made by Mainland Football and Christchurch City Council.


In some circumstances, CTFC may also choose to close specific pitches or training areas even when grounds remain open. This is generally done where we are aware of existing damage, significant wear, or a risk of damage that could affect the quality of playing surfaces for the remainder of the season. If your training ground or pitch has been closed by the Club, we will email you directly as soon as the decision is made. We will then discuss alternate training locations if available. 


How Are Closures Communicated?

If a ground, pitch or all grounds are closed:

• The listed coach and manager for each affected team will receive an email directly from CTFC.

• Emails are generally sent by 12.00pm on the day of training, or as soon as we receive confirmation from Mainland Football.

• Where possible, we will also publish an update on our Facebook page.


Important: Ground closure emails apply only to the specific date referenced in that email. If you receive an email advising grounds are closed on a Tuesday, this does not mean they remain closed on Wednesday. Please consider grounds open unless you receive a new closure notification for that day.

Fixture Postponements

Applies to - Saturday and Sunday fixtures only.

Who Makes the Decision?

Fixture postponements, cancellations and venue changes are determined by Mainland Football in consultation with Christchurch City Council and Clubs


How Are Changes Communicated?

Please rely on the following two sources only:

• An email sent by CTFC to players, parents/caregivers, coaches and managers.

• Fixture information published on the Mainland Football website.


Where possible, CTFC may also share updates on Facebook, however this should be treated as a supplementary communication channel only.


Important: The Christchurch City Council Sports Field Status website is not used to communicate fixture postponements or weekend game decisions and may not reflect the latest ground status. Please do not rely on this website to determine whether a game is proceeding.


When Are Decisions Made?

Fixture decisions are generally made either:

• From approximately 5.00pm on Friday for Saturday fixtures.

• Before 8.00am on the day of play/Saturday if conditions remain uncertain.


Because decisions can be made late, we strongly recommend checking your fixture information on Friday afternoon. Fixtures are occasionally moved to alternative pitches or venues due to ground conditions.


If there has been significant rain, ground closures during the week, or poor weather leading into the weekend, we also recommend checking the Mainland Football website on the morning of your game for any late changes.

Garrick Park (Home of CTFC)

Garrick Park has undergone significant upgrades following damage from the Canterbury earthquakes. This transformation includes:


  1. Two full-sized, sand-based pitches with a dedicated training area
  2. Complete drainage system with novaflow and sand-slit improvements
  3. Automated sprinkler system for efficient field maintenance
  4. New lighting towers for winter training
  5. Modern sports pavilion with enhanced player facilities


The upgraded facilities debuted as a training site for the FIFA U20 World Cup and will continue to serve the club and community year-round.

Whittington Avenue: Redevelopment in progress to restore it as a top playing surface, including drainage, floodlight relocation, and new changing rooms.


Somerfield Park: Enhanced changing facilities for player comfort.


Beckenham Park: In partnership with Southern Districts Cricket Club, we are planning pavilion repairs and potential floodlight installation to support training sessions.
